Pros Of Using Hydroseeding As A Farming Method

By Douglas Edwards

For those of us not really familiar with agriculture, this may be a completely new term in the industry thus needs to be looked after. This is not only a cost-effective method but also a very environmentally friendly one since there is less chemical use which leads to environmental pollution. It is usually a mixture of mulch and seeds and is mainly used to grow lawn grass. The article below discusses some of the advantages of hydroseeding.

Sometimes, the color of lawn grass is too green to be true. This is however not harmful as the color used nowadays is eco-friendly. In the past, malachite green was used, and people saw it to be harmful to the environment. There were complaints in Minnesota that this chemical affects their water sources and also their marine life.

This process promotes the use of native grass. At times, people do want a lawn, but they are not for the idea of getting rid of some of the trees. As a professional landscaper, you may recommend some of the grass types that can grow in an area with shade. Planting grass that is native to the area means minimal use of pesticides, unlike new ones that may take time to adjust.

The professional uses both organic and inorganic soil conditioners. These go a long way in improving the condition of the soil. Even the plants around the treated area are bound to be a lot healthier. The aeration and drainage ability of the soil improve. This method takes up only half the time any other method would have used.

It is a method of controlling soil erosion. It includes placing of mulch around new growing plants. The mulch usually covers the soil surface, therefore, resulting in minimization of erosion. This promotes the growth of healthier plants. This is because as the soil is retained, so is are the minerals in it that help in the blossoming of plants.

The grass seeds are able to grow in an easier way. As before mentioned, there is moisture retention so at no point will the plant dry up because of lack of water. There is no seed dormancy as the seed gets all the requirements it needs to grow. The plant needs a certain degree of temperature in order grow as needed. The temperature is kept in check by the mulch.

Water is conserved. The mulch is able to stay moist and provided the needed amounts of water to the plant. The plant, however, adapts on its own. The roots elongate such that they are able to draw water on their own from underground. This adaptation allows them to survive even in the dry season because they can fend for themselves.

Weeds are some of the threats that cause plants not to grow. If not uprooted, they may completely kill the plants. But since their seeds are not included in the spray, it may be hard for them to appear anywhere near the plant. The mulch also suffocates the weeds before they get the chance to thrive into healthy plants.
